to a basicsetting.

. Basic settina:
H=1 turn op~n, L=l turn open
Localclimateanddifferencesin altitude mayrequirean adjustment.
When working at high altitudes, the H-needle is turned
clockwise,(givesa leaner fuel mixture).
When working at sea level, the H-needle is turned counter-
clockwise, (givesa richer fuel mixture).
NOTE! Small derivationsfrom the basic setting, influence the rpm
ofthe saw,substantially.
Basic setting of carburetor
Checkthat the airfilter isclean.
Turnthe needlesHand Lcarefully in (clockwise).
Thenturn the needlesout tothe recommended basic position,
(counter-clockwise)H=l turn open, L=l turn open.
Start the saw andwarm it up,according to the starting instruc-
tions.
Idle speed setting
Ifanadjustment isnecessary,adjustwith theTscrew.Adjustthe idle
speedsothat the chain does not rotate.
Check the function of the saw, if necessary, make a final
adjustment.
Final setting of carburetor
A final setting of the carburetor can only be done after the basic
setting andwhenthe saw iswarmed up.
Apart from minor readjustments, you should leave all car-
buretor settings and repairworkto your servicing dealer,
Start with the lowspeed needleL,
Low speed needle L
Apply full throttle a couple of times and check that the saw is
accelerating without hesitation,
Ifasetting isnecessary,trytoreachthe maximum idlespeed,by
slowly closing the low speed needle L clockwise. Then open
(counter-clockwise), ‘/, of aturn.
Checkthe engine acceleration.
NOTE!A too lean adjustedlow speed needle (the L-needleclosed
too much), results in starting difficulties, After a correct setting of
the L-needle,you mayproceedto setting of the H-needle,
High speed needle H
A minor adjustmentaccording tolocalconditions maybe donewith
the high speed needle.
The highspeed needle(H)influencesthe powerofthe saw,and
should be adjusted to the basic setting H=1 turn open, the maxi-
mum speed not exceeding11,500rpm,
CAUTION! A too lean adjusted high speed needle (the H-needle
turned too far clock-wise) lowers the power of the engine and
causesover-heating.This can result in engine damage.
Final setting of the idling speed T
Adjustthe idling speedwith the screw markedT,
Corrections to the setting of the idling speed should be done,
after the H and L adjusting screwsarecorrectly adjusted.
If it is necessary to readjust, first turn the idle speed adjusting
screw (T) clockwise, until the chain starts to rotate. Then turn,
counter-clockwise, until the chain stops,
A correctly adjusted idle speed setting (approx. 2,700 rpm)
occurs when the en~ine runs smoothlv in everv position. It should
alwaysbegood mar~into the rpm whenthe chain starts to rotate.
CAUTION! Contactyourservicing dealer,ifthe idlespeedsetting
cannot be adiusted so that the chain stem. Do not use the saw
until it hasbe~nproperly adjustedor repaired,
