on the Problem Summary Form you filled out in step 29 (See page 142) equal to 0000?
v Yes: Continue with the next step.
v No: Return to System Reference Codes. Analyze the problem using the data in characters 9-16 of
the bottom 16 character line of function 13 (word 9) on the Problem Summary Form in place of the
data in word 1, which originally sent you to this procedure.
This
ends the procedure.
32.
Go to the analyzing problems procedures in the service information for the specific disk unit to
analyze the status of the failing unit. Then return here and answer the following question.
Did the service information for the specific disk unit correct the problem?
v No: Continue with the next step.
v Yes: This ends the procedure.
33. A manual reset of the IOP may clear the attention SRC. Perform the steps in the following table:

1. Select Manual mode on the control panel.
2. Select Function 25 and press Enter.
3. Select Function 26 and press Enter.
4. Select Function 67 and press Enter to reset the IOP.
5. Select Function 25 and press Enter to disable the
service functions on the control panel.
1. From the SST/DST screen select Work With
Partitions—>Work With Partition Status.
2. Select Function 23 More Options.
3. Select option 59 for the logical partition that you are
working in.
4. Select the IOP for debug.
5. Select Reset I/O Processor.
6. Return to the Partition Status display.
Does an SRC occur?
v Yes: Continue with the next step.
v No: This ends the procedure.
34.
Force a dump of main storage, then perform an IPL by doing the following:
a. Select Manual mode on the control panel.
b. Select function 22 (Main Storage Dump) on the control panel.
c. Press Enter to force a dump of main storage to the load-source disk unit.
d. When SRC A100 300x occurs, the dump is complete.
e. Perform an IPL to DST (see Performing an IPL to DST in the iSeries
(TM)
Service Functions
information).
Does a different SRC occur, or does a display appear on the console showing reference codes.
v No: Continue with the next step.
v Yes: Use the new SRC or the URC displayed on the console and go to System Reference Codes
to correct the problem.
This ends the procedure.
35.
Does the same SRC occur?
v No: The problem is intermittent.
a. Print the system product activity log for the magnetic storage subsystem and print the LIC
LOGs with a major code of 1000.
