Symptom What you should do:
A part is broken or damaged. Go to the Type, model, and part number list to get the

Then, go to the Remove and replace procedures to
exchange the part.
Table 8. Problem with the Operations Console or the remote control panel
Symptom What you should do:
The System Remote Control Panel is not working
properly.
Perform “Operations Console-PIP2” on page 149.
The Operations Console will not connect or there is an
SRC code of A6xx5001 (B6xx5001), A6xx5004
(B6xx5004), or A6xx5007 (B6xx5007) and the system
attention light is on.
Perform “Operations Console-PIP1” on page 147.
Table 9. Processor or memory problem
Symptom What you should do:
The system has a processor or memory problem.
For Models 270, 820, 830, 840, SB2, and SB3: An SRC
displayed on the Control Panel starts with B427, B437,
B467, or B4FF.
For Models 800, 810, 825, 870, and 890: An SRC
displayed on the Control Panel starts with B4FF, B427,
B428, or B448.
If the system shows an SRC in the Service Action Log,
look at the failing items identified in the Service Action
Log view. Replace any hardware FRUs or go to any
symbolic FRUs. To replace hardware, go to Locations and
addresses for the model you are working on.
Note: The priority code is the fifth digit of the SRC. They
are:
v Mandatory: (The unit reference code starts with a 4)
You should replace all mandatory failing items before
the next IPL.
v High: (The unit reference code starts with an 8) This
part has a high probability of resolving the problem.
Replace high priority failing items in order, one at a
time with an IPL in between.
v Low: (The unit reference code starts with a C) This
part has a low probability of resolving the problem.
Replace low priority failing items after replacement of
mandatory and high priority items.
If a Service Action Log is not available, use the SRC
on the control panel and go to the appropriate System
reference code table:
– For Models 270 and 820, see B427
– For Models 800 and 810, see B427
– For Model 825, see B428
– For Models 830 and SB2, see B437
– For Models 840 and SB3, see B467
– For Models 870 and 890, see B448
– If any system fails to IPL due to a processor failure,
there will be a B4FF SRC in the control panel, see
B4FF.
