Once you have the NIC’s card position, go to Table 3. (See page 450) below and use the link to the
FRU positions, names, and components table associated with the card position.
This ends the procedure.
v If you do not have a system configuration listing, then perform the following:
1. Start Hardware Service Manager under SST or DST and select Logical Hardware Resources —>
High-speed link resources.
2. Select the Include non-reporting resources function.
3. Each HSL resource will be displayed. HSL loop resources will have a corresponding loop number.
Search for the system bus number under each loop by selecting Resources associated with loop
for each HSL loop, one at a time.
4. For each HSL I/O bridge under the loop select Resources associated with this resource.
5. To locate the system bus number for each system bus resource, select Display detail for each
system bus resource.
6. When you have located the system bus number you are searching for use the cancel function to
return to the Work with high-speed link (HSL) resources display. Move the cursor to the local HSL
NIC resource that the system bus is associated with and select Associated packaging resources.
7. Select Display Detail and record the frame ID and card position of the NIC resource. Go to Table 3.
