Chapter 3 Mechanical and Electrical Installation
3.1 Mechanical Installation
3.1.1 Installation Environment
Item Requirements
Ambient temperature The ambient temperature has great impact on the service life of the AC drive. The running
ambient temperature cannot exceed the allowable temperature range.
Heat dissipation
Install the AC drive on an incombustible supporting surface and make sure there is
sufcient space around the enclosure to allow for efcient heat dissipation. Install the AC
drive vertically on the support using screws.
Mounting location
Make sure the mounting location is:
•
Away from direct sunlight
•
Not in an area that has high humidity or condensation
•
Protected against corrosive, combustible or explosive gases and vapours
•
Free from oil, dirt, dust or metallic powders.
Vibration
•
Make sure the mounting location is not affected by levels of vibration that exceed 0.6 g.
•
Avoid installing the enclosure near to punching machines or other mechanical
machinery that generates high levels of vibration or mechanical shock.
Protective enclosure
The CS200 units that have plastic drives must be installed in a reproof cabinet with doors
that provide effective electrical and mechanical protection. The installation must conform to
local and regional laws and regulations, and to relevant IEC requirements.
3.1.2 Mounting Clearance
The mechanical clearance requirements for the CS200 vary with power classes of the AC drive.

The AC drive shall be
installed vertically upward.
