Chimney Sweeping
We recommend that chimneys should be swept at least once a year during the burning season. More frequent
sweepingmaybenecessarywhereresareburnedthroughouttheyearorwherelowgradewoodsareused
asfuels.Thechimneycanbesweptthroughthere.Thereisprovidedwithremovabletertiaryairtubesand
bafestofacilitatechimneysweepingandfortheremovalofsootfromtheunit.Iftheuehaspreviouslybeen
usedwithanopenrethenitshouldbesweptaftertherstmonthofusingitwiththestovetted.Thiswillclear
anyloosesootdepositsfromprevious“open”reburning.SeeServicingInstructions.
Handing Over

ReadtheUsersinstructionsandinstructtheuserontheoperationofthereandcleaningmethods.Leave
instructions with the user.

The user should be told that any odours are due to the newness of materials and should disperse after a few
hours operation.

Theusershouldbeinformedthatthereshouldbeservicedannuallyandthechimneycheckedforuepull
and blockage.
Informthecustomeroftherequirementtotacarbonmonoxidealarmandtheneedforregulartesting
of such a device
Advise the customer on the operation of the air control valve
Advise the customer on the importance of an adequate air supply
Advise the customer on the importance of regular servicing and chimney sweeping

Finally, record the serial number and installer/supplier details at the front of this
instruction book
