1. Standard adjustments
Position adjustment is carried out on the right and left of the moving
knife link pin while the sewing machine is stopped.
(1) Loosen the moving knife link pin setscrew .
(2) According to the previous item of "2)-2 Initial position," adjust
the right and left of the moving knife link pin so that the outer
periphery of the moving knife fits the moving knife positioning
V-groove on the knife mounting base.
(3) After coincidence has been secured, tighten the moving knife
link pin setscrew .
2. Specific adjustment
If adjustments are impossible only with the moving knife link pin :
(1) Loosen the moving knife link pin setscrew .
(2) Make adjustments so that the center of the moving knife link
pin fits the V groove located in the center of the oblong
hole on the knife drive arm . After that, tighten the moving
knife link pin setscrew .
(3) Loosen two setscrews of the drive arm stopper .
(4) Move the knife drive arm so that the outer periphery of the
moving knife fits the V groove on the knife-mounting base. In
this defined position, push the drive arm stopper and fix the
setscrew .
(5) Loosen two setscrews of the thread trimming cam and the
cam collar .
(6) Adjust arm’s engraved marker dot to the hand wheel marker
dot (red).
(7) Turn the thread trimming cam with the finger tip so that its
second screw comes to the front. When it comes to the front,
push the hook thread presser to the right.
(8) Move the thread trimming cam to the right and left so that
the thread trimming cam can mesh with the roller .
(9) In this state, lightly pull the thread trimming cam . Move it in
the direction of the arrow (toward the front) until the thread
trimming cam does not turn any more.
(10) Temporarily fasten the second screw of the thread trimming
cam .
<Method of confirmation>
1. Is coincidence secured with the engraved marker dot of the pulley?
2. Does the roller enter the cam groove smoothly?
3. Is the amount of knife withdrawal maintained at 2.5 to 3mm (A-SH
Specification: 3 to 3.5mm)?
(11) Firmly fix the two setscrews of the thread trimming cam .
(12) Push the cam collar against the end plane of the cam and fix
the two setscrews.
When the moving knife link pin is
positioned on the right side:
o The amount of withdrawal is
increased.
When the moving knife link pin is
positioned on the left side:
o The amount of withdrawal is
decreased.
