Loading envelopes into the bypass tray
Load envelopes into the manual bypass tray one at a time.
A maximum of 10 envelopes can be loaded into the multi bypass tray.

Reminder
Before loading envelopes, press them down to make sure that all air is
removed, and make sure that the folds of the flaps are firmly pressed,
otherwise the envelopes may become wrinkled or a paper misfeed may
occur.
After envelopes have been loaded, specify the paper size and paper type
settings from the control panel.
% Load envelopes with the flap side facing up, as shown in the
illustration.
– For details on specifying the settings for the paper size and paper
type, refer to steps 4 through 7 of the procedures in "Copying onto
manually fed paper (manual bypass tray)" on page 5-28 and
"Copying onto manually fed paper (multi bypass tray)" on
page 5-31.
