Checks before putting into operation

In the interests of riding safety, make a habit of making a general check before you ride.
– Check the engine oil level. ( p. 162)
– Check the engine for oil loss.
– Check the fuel supply.
– Check the chain tension. ( p. 98)

– Check the tire condition. ( p. 125)
– Checking the tire air pressure. ( p. 126)
– Check the front brake fluid level. ( p. 106)
– Check the rear brake fluid level. ( p. 115)

– Check brake system function.
– Check that the rear hubs are tight.
– Check that the footrests are tight.
– Check the handlebar bridge bearing for excessive play.
