FRONT PANEL FUNCTIONS (CONT.)
e) From now on the selected buon will act
exactly in the same way as if you press the
related front panel buon.
Front panel buons and presets can be
assigned as wished without limitaon
and in any order (again, except the
FOOTSWITCH / MIDI PROGRAM switch).
The footswitch’s conguraon is stored
within the footswitch itself, not in the
amplier. Reseng the amplier will not
aect the footswitch conguraon as well.
The footswitch can be hot-swapped
and synchronises itself with any JVM4
amplier aer connecon. However it is
recommended to connect the footswitch
lead to the footcontroller rst and then
connect it to the amplier.
MIDI OPERATION
Pressing the FOOTSWITCH / MIDI
PROGRAM buon twice puts the amplier
in MIDI waing mode; the LED will
ash unl a valid MIDI program change
command is received.
On recepon of a MIDI program change
command the amplier stores the current
status (channel + FX + reverb + master
sengs) in the MIDI program number
received. It is possible to store up to 128
dierent MIDI presets.
To exit this status without waing
for incoming MIDI data press the
FOOTSWITCH / MIDI PROGRAM buon
again.
By default the amplier is congured to
listen to MIDI channel #1, but it can be
changed to listen to any of the 16 MIDI
channels as follows:
a) Switch the amplier power o (POWER
switch, not STANDBY).
b) Press and hold the FOOTSWITCH /
MIDI PROGRAM buon.
c) Switch the amplier power on.
d) Release the FOOTSWITCH / MIDI
PROGRAM buon, the LED will start to
ash.
e) Send any MIDI command using your
MIDI pedalboard or any other MIDI
equipment.
f) The amplier will detect which channel
came in and congure itself to listen to that
MIDI channel only.
g) From now on any MIDI preset you had
previously stored will be acvated only
on the new channel regardless of what
channel you used before, this allows a fast
reconguraon should there be a MIDI
conict with any other outboard equipment.
Note: If you want to exit the MIDI channel
selection without any action press the
FOOTSWITCH / MIDI PROGRAM button
while waiting for MIDI data.
11. STANDBY & SILENT RECORDING
The STANDBY switch is used in
conjuncon with the POWER switch to
‘warm up’ the amplier before use and to
prolong the life of the output valves.
When the amplier is in STANDBY (OFF)
the whole preamp secon connues
running at its nominal voltages whilst the
power-stage remains in a ‘standby’ status.
This allows the amplier to be used for
silent recording or for preamp purposes
using the EMULATED LINE OUT (Rear
Panel Function #16).
