If children are le unsupervised in the vehicle,
they could, in particular:
R
open doors, thereby endangering other
persons or road users.
R
get out and be struck by oncoming trac.
R
operate vehicle equipment and become
trapped, for example.
In addition, the children could also set the
vehicle in motion, for example by:
R
releasing the parking brake.
R
changing the transmission position.
R
starting the vehicle.

Never leave children unattended in the

ehicle.

When leaving the vehicle, always take the
Smar
tKey with you and lock the vehicle.
#
Keep the vehicle SmartKey out of reach
of c
hildren.

gases
Combustion engines emit poisonous exhaust
gases such as carbon monoxide. Inhaling these
exhaust gases is hazardous to health and leads
to poisoning.

Never leave the engine or, if present, the
auxiliary heating running in an enclosed
space without sucient ventilation.

material in the engine compartment or the
exhaust system
Flammable materials may ignite.

Therefore, check regularly that there are
no ammable mat
erials in the engine
compartment or on the exhaust system.
Requirements:
R
The k
ey is in detection range of the antenna
(/ page 46) and the key battery is not dis-
charged.
R
In addition, the following applies for vehicles
with a reduced detection range: The key is
located in the key holder provided in the driv-
er's cup holder (/ page 79).

To switch on the power supply: Pr
ess button
1 once.
You can, for example, activate the windshield
wipers.
The power supply is switched o ag
ain when one
of the following conditions is met:
R
The driver's door is open.
R
You press button 1 twice.

To switch on the vehicle: Pr
ess button 1
twice.
The indicator lamps appear in the instrument clus-
t
er.
The vehicle is switched o again if one of the fol-
lowing conditions is met:
R
You do not start the vehicle within 15 minutes.
R
You press button 1 once.
