Companding Reduces the channel noise, e.g.
OTA transmission, that is
predominantly present in UHF2 and
900 MHz channel with the following
features.
Compressor Reduces the
background noise
flow and the speech
signal at transmitting
radio.
Expander Expands the speech
while the noise flow
remains the same at
receiving radio.
Random FM
Noise
Canceller
(Flutter
Fighter)
Reduces the unwanted effects of
random FM noise pulses caused by
channel fading under high Signal-to-
Noise (S/N) conditions such as in a
moving in a transportation. The
fading effects, heard as audio pops
and clicks, are cancelled without
affecting the desired audio signal.
The Random FM Noise Canceller
operates only in receive mode.
Security
Radio Lock
This feature changes your radio to a more robust
security system that protects the use of the secure
encryption keys.
If this feature is enabled in your radio by a qualified
radio technician, when you turn the radio on, the
display shows Radio locked.
Unlocking Your Radio
1 Enter your numeric password.
Secure-equipped radios – 6 to 8 characters.
Clear radios – 0 to 8 characters.
2 Perform one of the following actions:
Press the Menu Select button directly below
Sel to enter the code.
Press the Menu Select button directly below
Del to delete any unwanted characters.
