3.2.6 Paper end detection (See Figure 3-13.)

Paper end for rear feed paper
When a sheet is inserted, tip A of the paper end lever B is prevented, by the paper, from falling
into the slot of the paper chute. The sensor lever is pushed up by pressure @, and the paper
end sensor is turned on. If the paper is removed, tip A of the paper end lever B falls into the
slot of the paper chute. At the same time the rear part of the sensor lever interrupts the
sensor, turning it off, detecting a paper end. The paper end is detected with about 1 inch (25.4
mm) of paper remaining from the print position.
Paper end for bottom feed paper
When a sheet is inserted, the tip B of the paper end lever B is prevented from failing into the
slot of a bottom paper guide, the sensor lever is pushed up by the pressure @
and the paper
end sensor is turned on. If the paper is removed, the tip B of the paper end lever B falls into the
slot of the bottom paper guide. At the same time the rear part of the sensor lever interrupts
the sensor, turning it off detecting a paper end. The paper end is detected with about
1
inch
(25.4 mm) of remaining paper from the print position.
Cut-sheet end
When a sheet is inserted, the paper prevents the tip of the paper end lever from falling into the
slot of the platen. The sensor lever is pushed up by pressure
0,
and the sensor is turned on.
If the sheet is removed, the paper end lever falls into the slot of the platen, the rear part
interrupting the sensor at the same time, turning it off and detecting a paper end. The paper
end is detected with about 1 inch (25.4 mm) of the sheet remaining from the print position.
