9-3 Checking for Errors and Trouble-
shooting on the Support Software
Error management on the NX Series is based on the methods used for the NJ/NX/NY-series Control-
lers. This allows you to use the Support Software to che
ck the meanings of errors and troubleshooting
procedures. The confirmation method depends on the Support Software.
When an error occurs, you can place the Sysmac Studio online with the Controller or the
Communications Coupler Unit to check current errors and the log of past errors.
Refer to the user’s manual for the connected CPU Unit or
Communications Coupler Unit for details on
how to check errors.
Open the Sysmac Studio’s Controller Error tab page to check th
e current error’s level, source, source
details, event name, event codes, details, attached information 1 to 4, and correction. Errors in obser-
vation level are not displayed on this tab page.
Number of Current Errors
The following table gives the number of errors that are reported simultaneously as current
errors in each Unit.
If the number of errors exceeds the maximum number of reportable current errors, errors are
r
e
ported with a priority given to the oldest and highest-level errors. Errors that exceed the limit
on simultaneous error notifications are not reported.
Errors that are not reported are stil
l r
eflected in the error status.

Units
• When these Units are connected to the CPU Unit, since current errors are
managed in the CPU Unit, the number of current errors is limited by the
number of errors for the CPU Units.
• For Slave Terminals, since current errors are managed in the Communica-
tions Coupler Unit, the number of current errors is limited by the number of
erro
rs for the Communications Coupler Unit.
