Servicing Batteries
A single battery is installed in each SP and SPP in the server.
Caution - This procedure requires that you handle components that are sensitive to electrostatic
discharge. This discharge can cause server components to fail. Follow antistatic precautions to
prevent electrostatic damage. See “Prevent ESD Damage” on page 61.

Remove the Battery
This procedure can be performed only by qualified service personnel after removing the SP
or SPP that contains it. You do not need to power down the server before performing this
procedure, but you do need to ensure that the SP or SPP that you remove is not the managing
system or DCU activity.
