ERROR CODE DIAGNOSTICS
ERROR A066
EXPLANATION
Water bypass control valve malfunction
If the bypass valve motor does not work properly, the
water heater displays the “A066” error code on the User
Interface.
NOTE: : Prior to measuring voltage, turn set tempera-
ture down to 102. Water bypass valve will activate at
this temperature setting.
Diagnostic check items
• Water Bypass control valve.
Turn Power OFF
Remove and reinsert connector "G".
Visually inspect water bypass valve for loose
or damaged connections. Reassemble &
operate unit.
Turn power ON and operate unit.
Unit had a loose con-
nection.
Unit appears to be
operating.
Check connector "G" and
operate unit again.
If "A066" error code
appears, Replace control
board.
Check connector "G", and
operate unit again.
If "A066" error code
appears, replace control
board.
Check connector "G", and
operate unit again.
If “A066” error code
appears, Replace control
board.
While water is flowing, and the unit is at-
tempting to ignite.
Measure DC voltage between #3 wire
(White) & #15 wire (Black) at connector "G"
While water is flowing, and the unit is attempt-
ing to ignite.
Measure DC voltage between #11 wire
(Green) & #15 wire (Black) at connector "G"
Turn power OFF then ON.
Operate unit again.
If “A066” error code appears, replace water
volume control valve.
While water is flowing, and the unit is at-
tempting to ignite.
Measure DC voltage between #13 wire
(Red) & #15 wire (Black) at connector "G".
Did “A066” error
code appear?
Is the voltage
4-16 DC Volts?
Is the voltage
4-16 DC volts?
Is the voltage
4-10 DC volts?
