BEFORE DRIVING
For safe and comfortable driving, check
each part of the vehicle before starting off
your vehicle.
CAUTION
To inspect your vehicle effectively,
park it on level surface and check it
in the following order.
Checking Problematic Parts
Check those parts that you felt were prob-
lematic to see if they would be a hindrance
on the road.
Checking the External Appearance of
Your Vehicle
Check for flat tires and check the air
pressure.
Check side mirror and license plate for
dirt or damage.
Check all lights for damage or dirt.
Check for oil stains under parked car.
Take Driver’s Seat and Check the
Following:
Adjustment of the rearview mirror
Applying the brake and releasing the
parking brake
All warning lights and indicator lights
All lighting devices
The adjustment of driver’s seat
Make sure that headlights, tail lights, rear
lights, license plate lights, backup lights,
directional signals and stop lights work
properly.
CAUTION
When checking the lights, look for
the reflections on walls and in the
mirrors or get someone to help you.
Always Using Seatbelt
Driver and all passengers must wear prop-
erly fastened seatbelts.
WARNING
Children, pregnant or nursing
women who fail to fasten their
seatbelts properly might suffer an
accident. Always use seatbelts as
directed.
Familiarize yourself with seats,
seatbelts and airbags.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Taking Care of Children
Children go to the rear seat
To prevent children from interfering with your
driving by accidental movements or misuse
of devices, put children to the rear seat.
Adults adjust comfort and safety
devices
When a child gets in the vehicle, an adult
should take care of doors, windows,
seatbelts and seats making sure not to hurt
the child’s hands, feet or neck.
Checking Engine Compartment
Check the following:
engine oil
power steering fluid
brake fluid
cooling system
drive belt
