Note:If the vacuum reading
remains constant, or rises to no
more than 0.3 bar (4.25 psi) within
20 seconds, it can be assumed
that the oil seals are in good
condition.
However, if the pressure continues
to rise (reduced vacuum in the
crankcase), the oil seals must be
replaced.
- After finishing the test, open the
vent screw and disconnect the
hose.
- Remove the test flange.
- Sacken off the muffler screws.
- Remove the sealing plate tighten
screws to 8.5 Nm (6.3 lbf.ft).
- Install carburetor -see 8.2.1 and
8.2.2.
It is not necessary to disassemble
the complete engine to replace the
oil seals.
The FS 200 engine is shown in the
illustrations.
Starter side:
- Remove the flywheel -see 5.4.
- Tap the oil seal with a suitable
piece of pipe or a punch to
release it from its seat.
Apply the puller (1)
5910 890 4400 (with No. 3.1
jaws 0000 893 3706).
- Tension the arms.
- Pull out the oil seal.
Important:Take care not to
damage crankshaft stub.
- Clean sealing surface with a
standard solvent-based degrea-
sant containing no chlorinated or
halogenated hydrocarbons -see
13.2.
- Lubricate sealing lips of oil seal
with grease -see 13.2.
- Slide the oil seal, open side
facing the crankcase, over the
end of the crankshaft.
Use the press sleeve (1)
4112 893 2401 to press it fully
home.
- Install flywheel -see 5.4.
Clutch side:
- Remove carrier -see 3.2.
- Tap the oil seal with a suitable
piece of pipe or a punch to
release it from its seat.
Apply the puller (1)
5910 890 4400 (with No. 3.1
jaws 0000 893 3706).
- Tension the arms.
- Pull out the oil seal.
Important:Take care not to dama-
ge crankshaft stub.
- Clean sealing surface with a
standard solvent-based degrea-
sant containing no chlorinated or
halogenated hydrocarbons - see
13.2.
- Lubricate sealing lips of oil seal
with grease -see 13.2.
