SHIFT LEVER
This vehicle has an automatic trans-
mission. Select gear positions
according to how you intend to use
the vehicle.
“L (Low) position:
Carrying heavy loads or trailer towing
Compared to “H” position, this posi-
tion provides lower speed and greater
torque to the wheels.
“H” (High) position: Normal riding
with light loads.
“N” (Neutral) position: The transmis-
sion is in neutral.
“R” (Reverse) position: Select this
position to operate the vehicle
reverse.
NOTE: Shift the shift lever into neutral
before turning off the engine when
parking the vehicle on an incline. If
you parked on an incline with shift
lever in H, L or R position, vehicle
weight will make it difficult to shift into
neutral.
WARNING
Operating the shift lever from Neu-
tral without applying the brake can
be hazardous.
If you shift without applying the
brake, vehicle can move unexpect-
edly.
Always apply the brake before
changing from Neutral to High or
Reverse, to help prevent the vehi-
cle from moving unexpectedly
when you change.
WARNING
Operating the shift lever when the
ATV is moving can be hazardous.
If you shift into reverse gear when
the vehicle is moving, it could
stop suddenly, throwing you from
the ATV. If you shift from high
position to low position when the
vehicle is moving, it could reduce
speed suddenly, throwing you
from the ATV.
Always come to a complete stop
and keep the brakes applied while
shifting.
