Engine and Controls
1. Engine will not start.
Starter will not crank engine.
A. Battery disconnect switch (S6)
or emergency stop switch (S22) is
A. Check for proper operation of
S6 and S22. 24VDC should be
passing through both switches.

B. Ensure that the voltage across
both batteries is approximately
24VDC. Ensure that 24VDC is
reaching the starter relay terminal
C. Check the fuse and replace it if
the fuse has blown.
D. With the GCM on and at the
start screen, press the blue button
to start the engine. A bar graph
should appear to indicate that the
engine cranking. Make sure that
the starter relay (K4) is closing.
Replace the GCM if this does not
E. Defective starter relay (K4)
E. Momentarily connect a jumper
wire between the terminals of the
starter relay (K4). If the starter
motor (M11) attempts to crank the
engine, it indicates that the starter
relay is defective. Replace the
F. Defective starter motor (M11)
F. If the starter motor (M11) did
not operate in Remedy E, the
starter motor is defective, and it
G. If all engine starting
components are functioning
properly, and the starter motor is
unable to crank the engine,
internal seizure is indicated.
