3.4 Loading the Media

1. Lift the handle to open the printer

right side cover.

2. Push the print head release lever to

open the print head mechanism.

3. Remove the label roll guard from the

label spindle.

  Your TSC Barcode Reader might not be printing because the interface cable isn't properly connected, or the wireless or Bluetooth device isn't well connected. Also, the port specified in the Windows driver might be incorrect. Re-connect the cable or try a new one. Reset the wireless device setting. Select the correct printer port in the driver. Ensure the printhead’s harness connector is well connected with the printhead by turning off the printer and plugging the connector again. Check your program for a PRINT command at the end of the file and ensure each command line ends with CRLF.

  Poor print quality on your TSC Barcode Reader can occur due to several reasons. The ribbon and media might be loaded incorrectly, there could be dust or adhesive on the print head, the print density or speed might not be set properly, the printhead element could be damaged, the ribbon and media might be incompatible, or the printhead pressure might not be set properly. Reload the supply, clean the print head and platen roller, adjust the print density and print speed. Run a printer self-test to check the print head test pattern for missing dots. Change to proper ribbon or label media. Adjust the printhead pressure adjustment knob and ensure the print carriage is closed properly.

Check if the label size is set up correctly. Calibrate the sensor using Auto Gap or Manual Gap options. Clear the GAP/Black mark sensor with a blower.

Supply a new label roll and refer to the user’s manual for instructions on reinstalling the label roll. Calibrate the gap/black mark sensor.

  Wrinkling during printing with your TSC Barcode Reader can be caused by incorrect printhead pressure, improper ribbon or media installation, incorrect print density, or incorrect media feeding. Please refer to section 4.2. Set the suitable density for good print quality. Make sure the label guide touches the edge of the media guide.
