On engines with hot water outlet kits (see Hot Water
Outlet, page 26), additional coolant (above the
amounts in the chart) will be needed to completely fill
the system.
Electrical System
Electrical System
The electrical system is 12 volt.
Battery Cables
When replacing battery cables, always use multi-
strand copper cables of the same gauge (or better) as
those already installed in your boat by the boat builder.
If you are unsure of the gauge to be used, consult your
dealer. The maximum length is 20 feet per cable,
regardless of diameter.
NOTICE! Do not use aluminum core battery cables.
Failure to use battery cables of recommended gauge
and material could result in poor starting and electrical
component damage.
Battery
Minimum specifications for the starting battery;
12 volt
650 Cold Cranking Amps (CCA)
135 minute reserve capacity
NOTICE! Failure to use a battery of recommended
specifications could result in poor starting and
electrical component damage.
When replacing the battery, replace with one that has
the same (or more) cold cranking amps and reserve
capacity as the battery installed in your boat by the
boat builder. If you are unsure of the battery to be used,
consult your dealer.
NOTICE! Do not use deep cycle batteries to start the
engine. A deep cycle battery, while it may have enough
CCAs, may not have enough voltage during cranking
to power the engine computer (ECM). This can cause
problems with the ECM and engine.
