Note: Be sure the truck air system is at full capacity
before checking or adjusting the rear cab height

Measure from points shown with arrows
•
Check cab air suspension ride height 192 ±
4mm (7.62 in.).

Check Cab, Hood, Doors, Step Panels and
Cab Suspension
Open the hood and check condition of hood restraint
cylinders and splash shields.
Note: The restraint cylinders are oil-filled and work like
shock absorbers.
Note: Volvo recommends the Upper & Lower Step Panel
Bushings be replaced every 150,000 miles. For more
information see your Volvo Truck Dealer.
Check hood lock cables for function and condition. Make
sure they are not fraying.
Operate the lock to see if it moves without binding.
Check the Cab, Hood, and Doors for any dents, cracks or
noticeable blemishes.
Check the step panels (chassis side fairings) for proper
operation and that the latches and/or locks function
properly.
Inspect the upper and lower step panel bushings for
excessive wear.
Inspect cab suspension condition and ride height.
