Key tone
The cordless handset is set to beep with
each key press. You can adjust the key tone
volume or turn it off. If you turn off the key
tone, there are no beeps when you press
keys.
1. Press MENU on the cordless handset in
idle mode to enter the main menu.
2. Press q or p to choose Settings and
then press SELECT.
3. Press q or p to scroll to Key tone,
then press SELECT.
4. Press q or p to select the desired
volume or Off.
5. Press SELECT to save your preference.
Talking digits
You can choose whether the digits are to
be announced whenever you press the
number keys.
1. Press MENU on the cordless handset in
idle mode to enter the main menu.
2. Press q or p to choose Talking digits
and then press SELECT.
3. Press q or p to choose On of Off.
4. Press SELECT to save. You hear a
confirmation tone.
Home area code
You can program your home area code
so that when you receive or dial a call
within your local area, only seven digits
are shown or dialed, and the telephone
number is automatically stored without the
area code in the caller ID log.
1. Press MENU on the cordless handset in
idle mode to enter the main menu.
2. Press q or p to choose Settings and
then press SELECT.
3. Press q or p to choose Home area
code, and then press SELECT. The
screen displays Only for 7digit dial
from CID.
4. Use the dialing keys (0-9) to enter the
desired home area code.
• Press DELETE to delete a digit.
• Press and hold DELETE to delete all
digits.
5. Press SELECT to confirm. You hear a
confirmation tone.
• If, in the future, your telephone service
provider requires you to dial the area code
when making a local call, or, if you move to
a location that requires it, delete the home
area code you have already programmed
following the steps above. After you have
deleted the home area code, ___ appears.
