8.5 Changing the chemical product
Crystallisation can occur as a result of mixing different chemical products, which can damage the dosing device.
The dosing device and the dosing hoses must therefore be flushed with water before a new chemical product is used.
If this is not done, the Winterhalter Gastronom GmbH warranty and product liability will be void.
For machines with integral storage tanks
Ø Have chemical products replaced by an authorised service technician.
For machines with external canisters and suction tubes
Ø Remove the suction tube from the canister and place it in a water-filled container.
Ø Rinse the dosing device with water via the “Priming” menu.

8.6 Descaling the warewasher
If the warewasher is operated with hard water and without water treatment, then the boiler, the interior of the machine, all
the water lines and components may develop scale. Limescale deposits and dirt that remain in the machine can contrib-
ute towards hygiene risks, while scaling can lead to failure of heating elements. In case of limescale deposits, the ware-
washer must be descaled.
Using the descaling programme (} page 22), scale is removed from the inside of the warewasher. We recommend run-
ning the descaling programme at the end of the working day only, as the machine’s tank is emptied when the programme
starts and ends.
The water lines and the boiler can only be descaled by an authorised service technician.
8.7 Changing the activated carbon filter
Note:Only for Excellence-i(Plus) warewashers with an integrated reverse osmosis module.
Ø Reset the activated carbon filter counter (} page 24).
