CRUISING IN SHALLOW
WATER
3/4/5
The outboard motor can be tilted up par-
tially to allow operation in shallow water.
(except for 2-hp)
w
8 Place the gear shift in the Neutral posi-
tion before using the tilt support lever.
8 Run the boat at the lowest possible
speed when using the tilt support lever.
The tilt-lock mechanism does not work
when the tilt support lever is being
used. Hitting an underwater obstacle
could cause the engine to lift out of the
water, resulting in loss of control.
8 Use extra care when operating in
reverse. Too much reverse thrust can
cause the engine to lift out of the
water, increasing the chance of acci-
dent and personal injury.
8 Return the engine to its normal posi-
tion as soon as the boat is back in
deeper water.
