Valve clearance adjustment
NOTE:
Valve clearance adjustment should be made
on a cold engine, at room temperature.
1. Remove:
Flywheel magneto cover
Spark plug cap cover 1
2. Disconnect:
Spark plug leads 2
Fuel hoses 3
3. Loosen:
Timing belt tensioner
4. Remove:
Timing belt
Driven sprockets
Cylinder head cover
Spark plugs
5. Install:
Driven sprockets
Timing belt
6. Tighten:
Timing belt tensioner

7. Measure:
Intake valve clearance a
Exhaust valve clearance b
NOTE:
If any valve clearance is out of specification,
record its measurement.
Valve clearance:
Intake: 0.20 ± 0.03 mm
(0.008 ± 0.001 in)
Exhaust: 0.34 ± 0.03 mm
(0.013 ± 0.001 in)
