40~50, F40~F100 Splash Plates
(Spray Guards) Mounting
(Optional on 40T, 50HP, F50, F80, & F100)
The 1996 ~ newer T50 comes with an engine
splash plate mounted on the lower motor mount.
A second splash plate is included in the crate to be
mounted on the boat if needed. The boat splash
plates may be added to the 40T, 50, F/T50, F80
and F100 to reduce excessive spray.

Installation
Spray Guards
1. Install the engine spray guard as shown in the
illustration below.
2. Torque the nuts to 43Nm (4.3 m-kg, 31 ft-lb.)
F80/F100 Engine Spray Guard
Boat Spray Guard
The boat spray guard (splash plate) can reduce
spray, when the engine is mounted on a catamaran
or pontoon-type boat.
1. Install the plate between the boat transom and
the clamp bracket (see illustration below).
2. Make sure the edge of the boat splash guard
is between the engine splash plate (2b) and
the engine cavitation plate (c).
3. Make sure the edge of the plate (1a) does not
touch the lower case when the motor is fully
trimmed in the down position.
