Always ensure that the fuel filler cap is
correctly closed.
u Remove the rider saddle, see page 111
(REMOVING THE RIDER SADDLE).
u Remove the side panels, see page 114
(REMOVING THE LOWER FAIRINGS).
u Unscrew and remove the two retaining
screws (4) at the front end of the fuel
tank (5).
u Raise the fuel tank (5) at the front using
a suitable support to hold it up.
REMOVING THE FRONT FAIRING
u Remove the rearview mirrors, see page
115 (REMOVING THE REARVIEW
MIRRORS)
u Place the vehicle on the stand, see page
77 (PLACING THE VEHICLE ON THE
STAND).
u Turn the ignition switch to "".
u Remove the rearview mirrors, see page
115 (REMOVING THE FAIRING UPPER
FRONT COVERS).
u Release the four plastic rivets (1) using a
flat-blade screwdriver.
u Release and remove the screw (2) in the
centre.
CAUTION
Do not overtighten the screw (2) on
refitting, as it sits on plastic.
u H Release and remove the snap-on
fasteners (3) securing the front fairing
to the side fairings.
