Install mounting screws 1 with
appropriate torque.
Adapter plate on slider
tube
37 lb/ft (50 Nm)
Remove adhesive tape from
wheel rim.
Operate brakes several times
until brake pads contact brake
disk.
Removing rear wheel
Place motorcycle on a suitable
auxiliary stand. BMW Motorrad
recommends the BMW Motor-
rad auxiliary stand.

z Maintenance
Remove screw 3 of speed sen-
sor and take speed sensor out
of holder.
Remove quick-release axle
nut 4.
Remove screws 1 and pull cov-
er 2 downward somewhat.
