9.5 Replacing valve block
Warning - Danger of frostbite
During repair work on the ACS 500 refrigerant
in liquid or gaseous form can escape and cause
frostbite to the body.
Close valves on refrigerant flask.
Wear protective goggles.
Wear protective gloves.
Warning - Danger of burns
Hot surfaces on the valve block can lead to severe
burns to the hands.
Allow valve block to cool down.
Wear protective gloves.
Procedure:
1. Turn off ACS 500 at master switch.
2. Remove mains connector.
3. Remove electronic compartment and cold chamber
covers.
4. Close stop cocks and shut-off valves on the refrigerant
flask.

5. Remove all solenoid valve connectors (1).

6. Remove hexagon bolts (2) with washers.
7. Connect hose line (7) from refrigerant flask HP
connection (red).
8. Slide hose lines (5, 6 and 9).
9. Unscrew union nut from hose lines (3 and 4).
10. Slide hose lines (3 and 4) from pipe union.

11. Disconnect pressure sensor connecting lead (10).
12. Remove valve block (8).
13. Install new valve block.
