9.8 Replace the preparation unit
Warning - Danger of frostbite
When removing hoses or replacing the pressure
switch, refrigerant in liquid or gaseous form escapes
and can cause frostbite to the body.
Wear protective goggles.
Wear protective gloves.
9.8.1 Removing processing unit
Procedure:
The replacement processing unit is delivered without a
pressure switch. When replacing the processing unit, the
pressure switch must therefore be removed from the old
processing unit and fitted on the new one.
1. Turn off ACS 500 at master switch.
2. Remove mains connector.
3. Remove cold chamber cover.
4. Close stop cocks and shut-off valves on the refrigerant
flask.
5. Remove the hose line running from the processing unit
condenser to the refrigerant flask at the blue connection
on the refrigerant flask.
6. Remove hose line at coarse filter on processing unit.
7. Disconnect hose line at solenoid valve for oil drain.
8. Disconnect electrical lead in vacuum pump connection
box.
9. Disconnect electrical lead in compressor connection
box.
10. Remove ground cable at the foot of the processing unit
retaining plate.
11. Remove connecting leads from solenoid valve for oil
drain and on pressure switch.
12. Disconnect connecting lead for condenser fan.

13. Remove self-tapping screws (1).
14. Lift processing unit (2) out of the trolley.
15. Remove pressure switch (see section 9.9).
9.8.2 Installing the processing unit
Procedure:
1. Fit pressure switch (see Section 9.9).
2. Install the processing unit in the trolley by following the
steps described in section 9.8.1 in reverse.
3. Fix electrical connecting leads with cable ties.
