4.1.3 Degree of protection
BA1N energy storage devices are subject to the degrees of protection pur‐
suant to IEC 60529. It must always be ensured that the energy storage devi‐
ces - irrespective of their installation position - are not exposed to ambient
conditions outside of the applicable degree of protection.

4.1.4 Bearings - Hybrid bearings
Ball bearings with ceramic rolling elements are used. The average continu‐
ous speed determines the service life or the interval length until the required
re-lubrication. However, the number of re-lubrications is limited due to the
size of the grease collecting chambers on the bearings. Please observe the
notes regarding re-lubrication under chapter 7.7.3 "Re-lubrication of the hy‐
brid bearings" on page 32.
4.1.5 Cooling
Forced ventilation
Energy storage devices with this cooling method may only be operated with a
fan. The fan used is an axial fan. The fan is only available as "blowing" fan.
Cooling takes place via air streams which are guided over the surface of the
energy storage devices by air baffles.
To ensure that the axial fan can move the required air volume, a minimum
distance for letting the air in and out must be kept between the fan grille and
the machine.
