7 Commissioning and operation of BA1N energy stor‐
age device
7.1 Safety
High electric voltage! Danger to life, risk of in‐
jury by electric shock!
Life parts are dangerous.
Do not open any covers or flange sockets during operation.
Do not connect or disconnect plug-connectors and connec‐
tion clamps.
Risk of injury due to rotating parts!
Do not remove covers, machine parts or protective devices
during operation.
Do not enter the motion area of the machine. Prevent per‐
sonnel from accidentally entering the machine’s range of mo‐
tion by using, for example:
● Safety fences, safety screens or protective covers.
● Light barrier
Thermal hazard due to hot surfaces during
operation with temperatures over 70 °C.
Do not touch hot surfaces.
Install protection against contact, if necessary.
Make sure that no temperature-sensitive components (ca‐
bles, electronic components, ...) touch hot surfaces.
7.2 Environmental conditions during operation
7.2.1 Allowed classes
Environmental conditions about stationary wheatherproof operation of BA1N
are defined according to DIN EN 60721-3-3 in different classes. They are
based on long-term experiences and take all influencing variables into ac‐
count, e.g., air temperature and air humidity.
Based on DIN EN 60721-3-3, some limit values are partially defined in the
following, which BA1N is allowed to be exposed to during operation. Refer to
the detailed description of the classifications to take all of the factors which
are specified in the particular class into account.
Allowed classes of environmental conditions during operation according to
DIN EN 60721-3-3.
Classification type Allowed class
Classification of climatic environmental conditions 3K22
Classification of biological environmental conditions 3B1
