TEST PROCEDURES
IZA 2120-LZ Amplifier Tests
Required Equipment:
• Audio Precision ATS-1 or equivalent
• Audio Precision AUX-0025 digital filter or equivalent
• Remote Volume control with A/B Select User Interface (Bose
®
PC 041967)
• 2- 4 ohm, 250 Watt load resistors
Test Setup:
• Bass and Treble control, set at 12:00
o’clock position.
• Set EQ to “1” FLAT.
• Load 4 ohms per channel.
• Output gain trim set to max, master
volume set to max.
• Rear panel input gain trim set to max.
• DIP switch setting: as shown at right.
• All measurements for power amp need to
use the AUX-0025 digital filter.
1. Input Sensitivity and THD+N Tests
1.1 Set the front panel Input A / Input B switch to Input A. Apply a -10dBV +/- 2dBV, 1kHz sine
wave to the input A RCA input jacks.
1.2 Verify that the output level is 120W from both channels and that the THD+N is <0.5%.
1.3 Repeat steps 1.1 and 1.2 for the Input B RCA jacks.
1.4 Set the front panel Input A / Input B switch to Input A. Apply a -10dBV +/- 2dBV, 1kHz sine
wave to the input A Euro block input jacks.
1.5 Verify that the output level is 120W from both channels. Verify that the THD+N is <0.5%.
1.6 Repeat steps 1.4 and 1.5 for the Input B Euro block input jacks.
1.7 Apply a -58dBV +/- 3dBV, 1kHZ sine wave to the Page Input.
1.8 Verify that the output level is 120W from both channels and that the THD+N is <0.5%.
1.9 Apply a -5dBV +/- 2dBV, 1kHZ sine wave to the 1/8” Aux input jack on the front panel.
1.10 Verify that the output level is 120W from both channels and that the THD+N is <0.5%.
2. Frequency Response and Output Noise Tests
2.1 Set the front panel Input A / Input B switch to Input A. Apply a -30dBV, 1kHZ sine wave to the
input A RCA jacks. Adjust the Input A gain rear panel control to allow a 1W output level.
Reference the dB meter to this output level.
