Configuring Storage Array
To configure the storage array:
Step 1 Log on to a workstation, with an X Window server, with access to the machine to be installed.
Step 2 Start the X Window server. (Hummingbird Exceed)
Step 3 Using Putty (http://the.earth.li/~sgtatham/putty/latest/x86/putty.exe), setup a new connection, with X11 forwarding
enabled, to the server.
Step 4 Log on as root user with the corresponding password.
Step 5 Type the following commands:
# exec bash
# export DISPLAY=<local_IP_address>:0.0
# /usr/openwin/bin/xhost +
Step 6 Invoke the Sun Storage Configuration GUI by typing the following command:
#ssconsole
Step 7 Click Hide to terminate server discovery, if necessary.
Step 8 Click Server List Setup on the File menu of the Sun Storage Configuration Service Console to configure the server to
monitor.
Step 9 Click Remove All to remove any old data from the list.
Step 10 Click Add to add a new server.
Step 11 Enter the name of the server being configured, its IP address, and the password that you set for the ssmon user in the
fields, then click OK.
