Playing Components
The following describes the procedure for playing Blu-ray disc player
/ DVD player. Use the same procedure to play other components.
Switch the main remote control unit to the “MAIN” mode when
performing this operation (vpage 86 “Operating the Main Remote
Control Unit”).
Playing a Blu-ray Disc Player/DVD Player

Playback preparation.
q Turn on the power of the TV, subwoofer and player.
w Switch the TV’s input to the AVR-4310.
e Load the disc in the player.

Turn the AVR-4310 power on.
(vpage 23 “Turning the Power On“)

Press [SOURCE SELECT] and select the input source.
Display the source select menu (vpage 26).

Play the component connected to the AVR-4310.
Make the necessary settings on the player (language setting,
subtitles setting, etc.) beforehand.

Adjust the items below.
Adjusting the master volume (vpage 64)
Selecting the surround mode (vpage 66)
Adjusting the Sound and Picture Quality
(vpage 69)

Before starting playback, make the connections between the different
components and the settings on the receiver.

Important Information
NOTE
Also refer to the operating instructions of the connected components
when playing them.
External devices can be controlled by remote control unit (vpage
86 “Operating the Connected Devices by Remote Control Unit”).
When a DENON control dock for iPod (ASD-1R or ASD-11R, sold
separately) is used, you can play images and music stored on an
iPod

Playback preparation.
q Connecting the DENON control dock for iPod to the AVR-
4310 (vpage 16 “Control Dock for iPod”).
w Set the iPod
®
in the DENON control dock for iPod.

Turn the AVR-4310 power on.
(vpage 23 “Turning the Power On“)

Press [SOURCE SELECT] to display the GUI Source
Select menu, then select “ ” (vpage 26).
The input source switches to the source to which the control
dock for iPod is assigned and the iPod menu is displayed.

(When using an ASD-1R) (When using an ASD-11R)
When using an ASD-11R, the “Music” and “Videos” folders are
displayed on the top menu.
Once communications between the AVR-4310 and the iPod are
completed, the connections screen is displayed on the iPod.
If the connections screen is not displayed, the iPod may not be
properly connected. Reconnect it.
