This chapter contains additional information about the installation of the EZ 1000
converter within hazardous areas. Before installing the EZ 1000 within hazardous areas
observe the information of Chapter 6.
7.1 Mark the converter as "once used without
safety barrier"
The converter is intended for use with safety barriers as an Ex ia device or without safety
barriers as an Ex nA device. Once used without a safety barrier, it is not permitted to use
the device as an Ex ia device. The EZ 1000 converter has a removable sticker to mark the EZ
1000 converter as "once used without safety barrier".
Remove the sticker with the inscription "remove at non intrinsically safe usage" shown in
Figure 7-1
to mark the EZ 1000 converter as "once used without safety barrier".
