Intelligent Access with Push-button Start
• Eliminatesfumblingwiththekey—allowing
customers to enter the vehicle with one touch and
then start the vehicle without ever getting the key
out of their pocket
• SystemsenseswhentheIntelligentAccesskeyfob is
in range of the door and allows access to the vehicle
when either front door handle is grabbed
• Tolockthedoors,pressthelockarea(blackbutton)
on either front door handle
• IntelligentAccesskeyfob is programmed to a specific
vehicle and can be kept in a pocket, purse or briefcase
• Liftgatecanbeopened—withoutusingthekey—by
depressing the switch located in the pull cup below
the license plate when the Intelligent Access
key fob
is in range
• Keyfobincludesaremovablemechanicalkey,allowing
access to vehicle if the key fob battery is dead
• Smartunlockfeatureisintendedtopreventthe
Intelligent Access
key fob
from being locked inside
the vehicle
If the doors are locked and the Intelligent
Access key fob is sensed inside the passenger
compartment or trunk, the doors will be
immediately unlocked and the horn will chirp to
notify the driver
Intelligent Access key fob can be intentionally
locked inside the vehicle via the SecuriCode
Keyless Entry Keypad or by using the second
Intelligent Access key fob
Starting the vehicle
• OncetheIntelligentAccesskeyfob is sensed,
the vehicle can be started by pressing the brake
pedal and pressing
the ENGINE START/
STOP button on the
instrument panel
• Ifthereissignal
interference or a low
battery condition, place
the Intelligent Access
key fob nearthebackup
locationonthesteering
columnand the vehicle
can be started
Remote Start
• Availablefactory-installedequipment
• Providestheaddedconvenienceofstartingthe
vehicle from a distance of up to 325 feet; actual
range may vary
• RemoteStartbuttonisincorporatedintotheRemote
Keyless Entry device specific to the vehicle
• RemoteStartfunctionalsoprovidesanumberof
driver-selectable comfort and convenience features
that can be accessed through the vehicle message
center. Available features and settings vary by vehicle
and may include:
Engine can be programmed to run for 5-, 10- or
15-minute intervals
Heater/AC Auto/Last Setting
Front defroster Auto/Off
Rear defroster Auto/Off
Driver seat heat Auto/Off (If equipped)
Passenger seat heat Auto/Off (If equipped)
MAKE THE POINT:
Remote Start Range
When discussing the Remote Start feature with
the customer, be sure to explain there are many
factors that influence performance and range.
Some examples include: structures around where
the vehicle is parked, extreme weather conditions,
vehicles parked nearby, or even the house or building
the customer is in when using their Remote Start.
