1.6.4 Multiple ECDIS and autopilot control
The ECDIS is connected to the autopilot via a hardware switch to permit manual
switching of the ECDIS units.
For example, ECD002 is the primary ECDIS and ECD003 is secondary ECDIS. Then,
to set the primary and secondary ECDIS units, do as follows.
1. See section 1.6.3 to set the HCS for ECD002 and ECD003.
2. Click [TCS] on the tab bar, and then set [Primary] and [Secondary] as shown be-
low.
3. To save the configuration, perform a consistency check, then save the configura-
tion data on the [Save and Sync] menu.
After rebooting the system, the [TCS] button appears on the InstantAccess bar
™
of ECD002 and ECD003. The [TCS] button on the ECDIS not selected as primary
ECDIS becomes inoperative (grayed out).
4. To switch the primary and secondary, switch from ECD002 to ECD003 with the
hardware switch and then click the radio button on the [TCS] menu of the ECDIS
menu.
The ECDIS checked at the TCS menu can engage the TCS.
Note: DO NOT switch ECDIS units while the TCS is engaged. Stop the TCS, then
switch the unit.
