1.3 Interface Summary
1.3.1 Primary Interfaces
The GIA 63(W) is designed as an open architecture system that provides the following interfaces:
• 1 dedicated Ethernet High-Speed Data Bus (HSDB) input/output channel
• 2 Controller Area Network (CAN) I/O channels
• 8 Main ARINC 429 inputs
• 3 Main ARINC 429 outputs
• 1 VOR/ILS ARINC 429 input
• 1 VOR/ILS ARINC 429 output
• 5 RS-485 input/output channels (any two RS-485 channels can be configured to form a single
RS-422 channel)
• 8 RS-232 input/output channels
• 41 Discrete inputs
• 14 Discrete outputs
• 24 Annunciator outputs

• Autopilot
• Altitude encoder/serializer
