7. Installation of electrical devices
The installation of electrical devices in the HOBBY caravan has been
carried out in accordance with the valid regulations and standards.
Please note
7.1 Safety tips
• Donotremovethesignsonelectricalcomponents
giving safety instructions or danger warnings.
• Theinstallationspacesaroundelectricalequipment
such as distribution fuse boards, electric power
supply,etc.,maynotbeusedasadditionalstorage
spaces.
• Smokingandnakedameareforbiddenwhenche-
ckingelectricalequipment.
• Inexperthandlingofthevehicle‘selectricalsystem
mayendangeryourownlifeaswellasthatofothers.
• Thestandardversionofthecaravanisnotequipped
forinternalbatterysupply(self-sucientoperation).
Toconnecttoanexternal230Vmainsconnection,
useonlyaweather-proof,3-wireextensioncordwith
aCEEplugandconnector.
•Tooperate12Vdevices(e.g.refrigerator,etc.)safely
while driving, please ensure that the car delivers
sucientvoltage.Insomecars,thevehicle'sope-
ratingsystemprotectsthebatterybyswitchingo
devices.Forfurtherinformation,pleasecontactthe
manufacturerofyourcar.
Advice and instructions
Important
• The caravan's electric system should preferably be inspected
within a period ofless than three years. If the caravanis used
frequently,anelectricalengineeringspecialistshouldinspectthe
electricsystemeveryyear.
• Onlyspecialistsmaymakepossiblechangestotheelectricalsystem.
• Ifnecessary,disconnect the batteryandswitch o the 230Vmains
beforecarryingoutmaintenancework.

Pleaseobservethebatterymanufacturer’soperatinginstructions.
• Theacidinthebatteryispoisonousandcorrosive.Avoid
contactwitheyesandskin.
• Thecompletelydischargedbatterymustberechargedforat
least24hours.Thebatterymaybedamagedifithasbeen
dischargedformorethan8weeks.
• Avoidcompletedischarge,asotherwisetheperformanceand
lifetimeofthebatterywillbesignicantlyreduced.
• Checkthelevelofthebatteryuidregularly(acidbatteries);
AGM-batteriesrequirenomaintenance,butmust be continuo-
usly recharged.
• Checkthatthebatteryterminalsaresecureandremoveanyla-
yers of oxidation.
