CURRENT LEAKAGE INSPECTION
Remove
the
seat (page 3-3).
Disconnect the negative (-) cable
fr
om the battery.
Connect
the
amme
t
er
(+)
probe
to
the negative H
cable
and
amme
t
er
H pr
obe
to
the
battery H
te
rmi-
nal.
Check
for
cu
rr
ent leakage.
NOTE
:
When
measuring
c
urrent
using a
tester
,
set
it
to
a
high
r
ange,
and
then
bring
the
range
d
own
to
an
appropriate level. Current
flow
higher
than the
range
selected
may
blow
the
fuse
in the tester.

battery is
in
good
condition
before per-
forming
this
test.
Warm
up
the engine to
normal
operating tempera-
tu
re.
Connect the
multi
meter
between the battery posi-
tive
(+1
and negative (-) terminals.
NOTE:
To prevent a s
hort
, make absolutely certain
which
are
the
positive
(+1
and negative
(-)
terminals
or
cables.
Measure the voltage on the
multi
meter when the
engine runs at
5,000
rpm
.
