3. Install the shutter lever arm.
a. Insert the two 6 x 7 mm special nuts into the slots in the
shutter.
b. Insert the shutter lever arm through the retaining slot in
the Roto-Stop cover, and then install the two shoulder
bolts to attach the shutter lever arm to the shutter.
4. Install the shutter assembly into the mower deck.
a. Hold the Roto-Stop cover with one hand and then rotate
the shutter counterclockwise into the bagging position.
b. Guide the lever arm through the slot in the mower deck.
c. Slide the right-hand side of the shutter assembly into
place ensuring that the two alignment tabs go into the
retaining slots in the rear housing.
d. Push the left-hand side (closest to the front of the
mower) into place until it seats completely against the
mower deck.
e. VKA/VLA/VYA types:
Be sure the drive belt and Roto-Stop cable (VYA) are
routed properly through the Roto-Stop cover, as shown.
Do not allow the drive belt to installed on the other side
of the separation rib. The belt or Roto-Stop cable (if
equipped) can become damaged by improper routing.
5. Install the three screws attaching the Roto-Stop
cover to the mower deck.
Do not overtighten the screws or you may strip or damage
the plastic nut inserts in the mower deck.
