Mounting and Connection Instructions IB2 16 I/O Expander
1. Application
This module is intended to expand an intruder alarm control panel with additional
detector group inputs and semi-conductor outputs. It is monitored by a control panel via the BUS
system. The module can be used together with the MB-Secure control panel series.
The connection to the MB-Secure is established via the BUS-2 or lB2-Bus. The module can be
operated both in the control panel housing and remotely with a cable length of up to 1000 m. The
housings ZG0 and ZG1, Item No. 057631 and Item No. 057632 are available for the remote
installation of this module.
16 detector group inputs which are also programmable in double-balanced technology are
available for connecting conventional detectors. Up to 3 contacts of a detector with varying resistor
values can be monitored in series, so that per input all the signals of a detector (alarm, fault,
tamper) can be efficiently and economically processed.
For operating autosaving sensors, e.g. passive glass breakage detectors or similar devices, a clear
function is available for each input. The detector group inputs can also be operated separately as
active-low outputs.
16 freely programmable active-high and active-low semi-conductor outputs are also available for
the module. They can also be used for the activation of relays, e.g. relay module Item No. 013941.
• Bus connection to the control panel can be switched to BUS-2 or IB2.
• Installation in the control panel housing or remotely with a cable length of up to 1000 m
• 16 conventional detector group inputs which are also programmable in double-balanced
technology with clear function
• Detector group inputs for operating alternatively as active-low output
• 16 semi-conductor – programmable as high-active or low-active
• Connection for cover contact
• Connection for tear-off protection
• Connection for external 12 V DC power supply
• 3 LEDs for displaying system states
• Simple installation on the housing base of the control panel or in a separate housing
