GLOSSARY OF TERMS
clear
Cancel the last entry. If you make a mistake in entering information, press CLEAR to invalidate your last step.
Can also be u
sed, with a series of further steps, to prepare the system for erasing all Programs from memory.
Can also be used to remove messages from the display.
cold start
A reset condition that occurs if all user
-
entered programming is erased from the controlle
r's memory. All the
programming is returned to the default settings. Press CLEAR to remove message from the display.
common wires
The path for completing the electric circuit of one or more solenoids. The common wires connect to the ground lug
(MP mo
dels) or the common terminal on the terminal strip.
cycle
Activation of a controller output for a prescribed period of time. For example, Station 1 (a valve) goes on at 6 AM,
runs for 10 minutes, and shuts off at 6:10 AM. That represents one cycle.
day

change
For the controller's purposes, the time one day changes to the next (for example, Monday changes to Tuesday).

change allows the calendar and the clock to work together more conveniently. By setting the

change to a tim
e later than midnight, you can control the irrigation schedule to allow watering at night without
disruption.

Program 1 is set to All Days on, Start 1 at 10 PM, all station Run Times set to 10 minutes. All other Programs and
starts are s
et OFF.
End time
A fail

safe feature ... the time when you want watering to cease. This feature guards against an oversight in
programming that might allow watering to continue past some critical point. Even if the stations are programmed
to run beyo
nd that point, watering stops at the End time you set.
facepack assembly
The keyboard panel (also called a faceplate), the display mechanism, and the CPU board. On drone units, the
CPU and WalkPad connector only.
fuse holder
A receptacle that holds the electrical safety device in place (see "fuse") to protect against excessive current draw.
fuse open
A message indicating that the fuse is either missing or needs to be replaced. Message goes away when a good
fuse is put into place.
