iPod/iPhone playback
Symptom Possible cause Solution
An iPod or iPhone is not
recognized in the system.
Poor connection Disconnect the cable from the USB port and reconnect it correctly.
Device not ready or
malfunctioning
Check if the device’s battery is low. If the battery is low, the
smartphone may not be recognized.
Check if the device’s firmware is up-to-date. If not, update the
firmware via iTunes and reconnect the device.
Reset the device and reconnect it.
Unapproved cable used Use an Apple-approved cable.
Device not supported Use the device types and models that can be played in the system.

No sound is heard during
music playback from an iPod
or iPhone.
Device connected both to the
USB and the AUX port
When the device is connected to the USB port and the AUX port
simultaneously, it is recognized in the AUX mode. If the AUX cable
is connected to the device, disconnect it.
Playback paused during a call If you make or receive a call while playing music from an iPhone,
the device pauses playback. The playback may remain paused
after you end the call. Check the playback status on the device and
resume the audio.
