b. Remove
the
screws holding
the
bracket
to
the
frame.
c.
Place the keylock assembly
to
give
access
to
the
lower-right CRT holding nut.
5. Using an
insulated jumper wire, ground
the
CRT
anode
to
discharge electricity.
6. Carefully disconnect
the
CRT anode lead. There
may be an
electric charge on the anode.
7. Disconnect
the
CRT socket ground lead from
the
CRT bell ground strap, located
in
front
of
the
yoke assembly.
8. Remove the socket from the end
of
the
CRT.
9. Remove the cone shield from
the
end
of
the
CRT:
a. Loosen the cone shield retaining screw.
b. Turn
the
cone counterclockwise until the
locking tabs disengage.
c.
Pull
the cone shield straight back and free
of
the CRT.
10. Remove
the
yoke ground wire from
the
CRT bell
ground strap.
11. Loosen
the
yoke clamp screw, slide
the
yoke
assembly off
the
CRT, and place it on
the
upper
frame.
12.
Open
the
new CRT container, and place the pad
ona
stable surface near the display station
to
support the old CRT when it
is
removed.
Caution: The
following steps free
the
CRT from
its mounting. The
CRT weighs
about
7.25
kg
(16
pounds). Protect and support the
CRT from
too
much pressure, which could damage
the
CRT
or
other units.
13. Remove
the
CRT holding nuts (4).
14. With
the
CRT resting on the mounting studs,
carefully
remove the grounding straps.
15.
Connect
the
lifting strap (supplied with
the
new
CRT)
to
the
top
CRT mounting tabs.
16.
Carefully slide
the
CRT toward the rear
of
the
display station and lift it from
the
unit.
17.
Place
the
CRT face down on
the
pad.
18.
Install
the
new CRT
in
the
reverse sequence.
