Select Utility from the menu.
•
Select and execute Tech Support Form from the menu to generate a system
configuration report.
•
Compare the system configuration list with the actual devices installed in
system.
NOTE: If necessary, remove the cover and visually compare the devices
installed in the system unit to those shown in the Tech Support Form.
004 - IF THE NUMBER OF DISKETTE, HARD DISK, OR CD-ROM DRIVE IS
NOT CORRECT, READ AHEAD; OR GO TO STEP 005.

Check the cable installation of all disk drives.(See “Machine Type 2170
System Board Jumpers and Connectors” on page 147 and “Machine Type
2171 and 2172 System Board Jumpers and Connectors” on page 150.)
- Floppy diskette drive should be connected to the system board connector
CN10 for 2170 and CN5 for 2171/2172.
- IDE Primary Channel Master and Slave Drives in BIOS Setup should be
connected to the system board connector CN11 for 2170 and CN11 for
2171/2172.
- IDE Secondary Channel Master and Slave Drives in BIOS Setup should be
connected to the system board connector CN12 for 2170 and CN10 for
2171/2172.
NOTE: The CD-ROM drive that comes with system unit should be configured
as IDE Secondary Channel Master device.

Check all power supply voltages, switch, and jumper settings before you
replace the system board. (See “Machine Type 2170 System Board
Jumpers and Connectors” on page 147 and “Machine Type 2171 and 2172
System Board Jumpers and Connectors” on page 150.)
•
Check the power supply voltages if you have a “system no-power” condition.
See “Power Supply Connectors and Voltages” on page 153.

Check the hard disk and CD-ROM drives jumper settings. See “3.5-In. Hard
Disk Drive Jumper Settings” on page 161. Check the voltages of all disk
drive power connectors. See “Power Supply Connectors and Voltages” on
page 153.
•
Correct the parameter settings under Disk Drives in the BIOS Setup. See
