Table 1. Symbolic FRU to perform for PRI_PCI
System frame or I/O tower type
containing the failing item: Action:
Model 270 Go to symbolic FRU “SYSBKPL” on page 464.
Note: Do not replace both at the same time.
Models 800 and 810 Go to symbolic FRU “SYSBKPL” on page 464.
Model 820 Go to symbolic FRU “SYSBKPL” on page 464.
Note: Do not replace both at the same time.
Model 825 Go to symbolic FRU “SYSBKPL” on page 464.
Models 870 and 890 Base I/O Tower There are two potential failing items. Perform symbolic FRU “SIADPCD” on
page 446. If the problem still exists after powering on the frame or tower, then
perform symbolic FRU “TWRPLNR” on page 473.
Note: Do not replace both at the same time.
FC 5074 Expansion I/O Tower There are two potential failing items. Perform symbolic FRU “SIADPCD” on
page 446. If the problem still exists after powering on the frame or tower then
perform symbolic FRU “TWRPLNR” on page 473.
FC 5075 Expansion I/O Tower Go to symbolic FRU “TWRBKPL” on page 469.
FC 5078 or FC 0578 Expansion I/O
Tower
There are two potential failing items. Perform symbolic FRU “SIADPCD” on
page 446. If the problem still exists after powering on the frame or tower, then
Perform symbolic FRU “TWRPLNR” on page 473.
FC 5079 Expansion I/O Tower There are two potential failing items. Perform symbolic FRU “SIADPCD” on
page 446. If the problem still exists after powering on the frame or tower, then
perform symbolic FRU “TWRPLNR” on page 473.
FC 5088 or FC 0588 Expansion Unit There are two potential failing items. Perform symbolic FRU “SIADPCD” on
page 446. If the problem still exists after powering on the frame or tower, then
perform symbolic FRU “TWRPLNR” on page 473.
FC 5095 or FC 0595 Base I/O Tower There are two potential failing items. Perform symbolic FRU “SIADPCD” on
page 446. If the problem still exists after powering on the frame or tower, then
perform symbolic FRU “TWRPLNR” on page 473.
External xSeries Server Go to symbolic FRU “SIADPCD” on page 446.
This ends the procedure.
PRIMIOA
Replace the storage I/O adapter to which the auxiliary cache I/O adapter is connected.
1. Find the location of the auxiliary cache I/O adapter:
a. Determine the address of the auxiliary cache I/O adapter. See System reference code (SRC)
address formats.
b. Determine the location of the auxiliary cache I/O adapter. See Part locations and listings for the
model you are working on.
2.
Trace the SCSI cable from the auxiliary cache I/O adapter to the storage I/O adapter. This is the
storage I/O adapter that you should replace.
3. Replace the storage I/O adapter that you just identified. See Part locations and listings for links to part
number and removal information. This ends the procedure.
